Utah: Sundance in the Summer
This past summer was my first summer ever in Utah, and all I knew for Sundance was winter Sundance — primarily the night-skiing part (also where Matt hurt his knee a couple months after we started dating and we stayed in the emergency room for four hours that night).
It was a complete surprise to see the summer version of Sundance. Green everywhere. It was like winter Sundance was the false personality and this was the real Sundance. Matt and I went for our anniversary and again when Stephanie was visiting.
For our anniversary, we took a lift ride to the very top and got a glorious lunch of nachos. On the other visit, we got the nachos plus went on a hike to Stewart Falls. This was a completely different route than the previous time we hiked to Stewart Falls and so beautiful. Also not very crowded at all.
There are so many other hikes, mountain bike trails, other lifts and you could also eat at the bottom level — some great restaurants there including The Foundry and Tree Room. It’s still on my bucket-list to go zip-line as well. Absolutely beautiful place even if you just walk around and then drive up Alpine Loop (the leaves changing in the fall are the best!). I guess I love it in all seasons.
