That’s on my 2024 bingo card: creating monthly bingo goals

With a new year comes this feeling of a fresh start, and inevitably for many, the “new year resolutions.” Personally, I do have resolutions or goals that I lay out at the beginning of each year (except for last year apparently — that was mostly about survival) within the categories of:

  • Spiritual

  • Health

  • Relationship

  • Education/Learning

  • Family & Travel (sometimes separate, this year together)

Most of the time, I create them and then sort of forget about them. So I’m also all for new ideas on keeping these goals top of mind. When I saw this trend of 2024 Bingo it made me think of the things people say when unexpected, and sometimes unwelcome, things happen in their year: “That wasn’t on my Bingo card this year.” Let’s change the narrative and take control to create a literal Bingo card where you can start saying, “That was on my Bingo card this year!”

In that spirit, I decided to make one for me, and for you if you want to join. All you need is a (free) Canva account and you can click on the link below and begin putting in some of your goals.

Most of the cards I’ve seen are by year, but frankly I would forget about it if I had to keep it updated the entire year. So breaking down my yearly goals into monthly goals and celebrating those wins felt more achievable. (But if it works better for you to do the whole year – you go Glen Coco!)

Some tips:

  • Duplicate the squares! If you have a goal such as “drink X amount of water per day” then write in not just one but 2+ squares so that every day/time you achieve this goal within the month, you get to cross it off

  • Rules are arbitrary – this is about celebrating each achievement and NOT shaming or being discouraged by what you don’t do, just keep going, you got this (I even gave you a free square in the center to get started — you’re already ahead!)

  • Once it’s filled in you can keep it as a digital file (go to “Share” in Canva and then select Download) or print it out (it’s 5"x7") and cross off each accomplishment (stickers not included, but also a fun use of encouragement)

  • Don’t forget to reward yourself! I personally put two rewards because I’m that confident I’ll get two Bingo’s (I may have already put in a few squares I’ve already done this year)

  • Fonts, colors, and text are all editable in this template

I hope you have as much fun with this as I had creating it!
